Grand Blanc went back-and-forth on the road with Carman-Ainsworth in the first half and was down just 24-23 at halftime, in spite of having 2 starters sitting out much of the first half in foul trouble. Senior guard Mya Williams came back after halftime to provide a big spark scoring 6 of her 9 points on the night in the 3rd quarter and getting several big defensive stops as we headed into the fourth quarter with a 35-31 lead. However, the big story on the night was junior forward Taylor Thompson. After scoring a career-high 33 points earlier this week in a win over Saginaw Heritage, Taylor followed that up with 15 points last night but none of those points were bigger than the buzzer-beater 3-pointer she hit to win the game via a fantastic assist by Aniyah Small. The final score was 46 –43. Grand Blanc is now 10-1 on the season and 9-0 in conference play. The Bobcats are the SVL South champions and will now travel to Midland Dow on Tuesday with the SVL conference title on the line.
