Davison then scores from a 4-yard run. 6:28 left in the first, and Davison is in the lead by 12. Davison’s defense came ready to play; they managed to force Grand Blanc to punt after a three and out, which gave the ball back to the Cardinals. Around 4:30 left in the first quarter, Davison found the end zone on a 13-yard keeper. Davison gets a penalty flag, and they have to kick from their 25-yard line. Early on the next possession, Ty Brotebeck finds Jonah Meleski for a 17-yard pass play, but the drive soon stalls, leading to a Bobcat punt.
As the second quarter moves in, Davison leads 18-0. Early in the second quarter, Ty Brotebeck delivered a 24-yard pass to Elijah Jackson-Anderson for a Bobcat Touchdown! With 10:27 in the second quarter, Davison leads Grand Blanc 18-7. Our defense holds the Cardinals, and penalties force, Davison, to punt from their 23-yard line. Ty Brotebeck sends a slant pass to Jonah Meleski, who runs 44 yards and delivers another Bobcat Touchdown! On the ensuing kick, Davison runs 9 yards for a Cardinal touchdown. With 5:22 left of the second quarter, Davison leads Grand Blanc 25-14. With the ball now in their hands, Grand Blanc ran a 4th and seven but was intercepted by Davison.
With the score 25-14, Davison scores again with a 7-yard run. With 7:27 minutes left in the third quarter, Davison leads 31-14. On Grand Blanc’s next possession, Ty Brotebeck throws to Jaylen Johnson for a 25-yard Touchdown! Davison runs 12 yards and converts on the 2 point conversion to extend their lead to 39-21.
In the fourth quarter, Grand Blanc goes for it on 4th and 10, they do not convert, and Davison secures their final score of the night shortly after. The final score 46-21. This Bobcat team has made progress over prior years, and we know further improvement is coming. We will need it – next week, we take on the talented Lapeer Lightning team at Lapeer.
